I don’t have the details to announce yet, but mark Oct 8th and 9th on your calendar for this Fall’s Cardboard Jam! The April Cardboard Jam (the very first!) was a huge success, so I’m really psyched to be doing another one. Things will kick into high gear soon once I’m back from vacation (honeymoon!), so stay tuned and expect the formal announcement within two weeks.

Quick question because I’m new to the Boston game jam scene, is the cardboard jam literally making a 2D game with cardboard? And if so, will there be other game jams that use 3D software and engines to create content? (Sorry if this sounds like a stupid question, I’ve just never heard of a jam that didn’t use computers)
Hi Jon. Thanks for asking about this.
At “cardboard” jams, we make games out of such materials as cardboard, construction paper, glue, playing cards, dice, and custom-designed play-pieces. I also run Boston Game Jams where we use computer technology to build games, such as last Fall’s Lunar Jam, which you can read about here: https://bostongamejams.com/game-jams/lunar-jam/.
Check out the “Game Jams” tab in the top-of-screen navigation of this blog to learn about the other jams we’ve done.
